A combined effort by Palmerston police and Strike Force Trident investigators led to the arrest of a 24-year-old male for property offences.

It will be alleged that on Tuesday 3 April, the man stole a vehicle from a Durack residence before leading police on two separate and highly dangerous pursuits across several Darwin suburbs. The alleged offender eventually lost control of the stolen car, crashing into a power pole and fleeing on foot.

On Monday 9 April, the male was arrested by Palmerston police. He was later charged and remanded to appear in the Darwin Local Court on Tuesday 10 April 2018.

Charges include:

Unlawful use of a motor vehicle – aggravated
Drive under the influence (alcohol)
Fail to obey direction of police
Dangerous driving in a pursuit
Fail to stop following crash
