Structure Fire - Woolner

Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service and Northern Territory Police were notified of a structure fire in Woolner around 12:30am on Wednesday, 16 May.

Fire crews attended and found a developing fire. Crews from Darwin, Berrimah, and Marrara Fire Stations attended.

At this stage it is believed approximately 50 percent of the building has sustained extensive damage.

Acting Fire Watch Commander Chris Manuel said “the excellent work of the fire crews has ensured that the remainder of the building did not receive damage. There are still hot spots which we will be monitoring therefore our crews will be remaining on scene for some time.”

“The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. It is unknown if it suspicious at this time,” he said.

Investigations are continuing.
