Two youths have been arrested and charged in relation to an unlawful entry of a business on Heath Road last week.

It is alleged on Sunday May 20, four youths have unlawfully gained entry into a business on Heath Road.

Once inside it is alleged the youths used a tool to remove external doors and gain entry into a main building, where they have caused a significant amount of damage to external and internal doors, storage lockers and windows.

The group were attempting to steal a quantity of alcohol from the premises when they were disturbed by a security guard and fled from the scene.

A male and female both aged 16-years-old were arrested on Tuesday. The pair have also been charged in relation to an earlier unlawful entry at the same premises in April where a quantity of alcohol was stolen. They will appear before the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court today each charged with the following:

2 x Unlawful entry – Building

2 x Stealing

2 x Damage to property

Investigations remain ongoing to identify the other outstanding offenders.
