A man remains in a critical condition after crashing the motorcycle he was riding in Coconut Grove overnight

Around 9:45pm Police were called to a report of a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Bagot Road and Skelton Street, where the 29 year old man was found unconscious.

Initial investigations indicate the man was travelling on a scooter southbound on Bagot Road and appears to have failed to successfully negotiate a left hand sweeping bend before mounting a median strip and becoming airborne.

The man was transported to the Royal Darwin Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Investigations will continue to determine whether alcohol, drugs or speed contributed to the cause of the crash.
