Stolen vehicle involved in crash - Darwin

Police

NT Police have arrested two male youths aged 16 and 17 after a vehicle was allegedly stolen this morning before engaging in a police pursuit.

At about five o’clock this morning a residence in Parap was unlawfully entered and a wallet and the keys to a white Toyota Kluger were stolen.

The occupants of the residence observed the car driving away and alerted police. After being sighted heading towards Palmerston, pursuit of the vehicle commenced but was terminated due to conditions and speed.

At around 9:30am, the stolen vehicle crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Hudson Fysh Avenue and Ross Smith Avenue, Parap. The alleged offenders fled the crash scene on foot and police converged on the area shortly after, setting up a cordon. The two youths aged 16 and 17-years-old were arrested soon after.

At the time of the crash the stolen vehicle was not being pursued and there were no injuries to the people involved in the crash.

NT Police would like to thank members of the public who assisted police in locating the vehicle and the offenders.
