Detectives from the Drug and Organised Crime Division have arrested a 32-year-old female and 40-year-old male following the execution of a search warrant in Livingstone.
The arrests follow a lengthy investigation into an alleged drug syndicate supplying commercial quantities of methamphetamine in the Darwin rural area.
The search warrant was executed around 8:00am on Tuesday 2 August.
During the search police located:
- 66 grams of methamphetamine
- 0.6 grams of Lysergic Acid
- 3 grams of cannabis
- $41,695 cash
- Drug ledgers
- Unsecured .22 calibre firearm with silencer
The male and female have been charged with:
- 2 counts of Possess Schedule 1 Dangerous drug - Commercial
- Supply Schedule 1 Dangerous Drug - Commercial
- Possess Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug
- Unauthorised possession Schedule 4 Substance
- Possess Firearm unlicensed
- Fail to meet storage requirements
- Possess ammunition without licence
- Possess Controlled weapon
- Possess Silencer
- Possess thing to administer dangerous drug
Both were remanded in custody and they are due to appear in court today.
