Charges – Traffic Offences – Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged a 35-year-old male with traffic offences following a pursuit on Sunday night.

Police were conducting a Random Breath Testing station on Tiger Brennan Drive near Berrimah Road around 9:30 pm when they observed a vehicle which failed to stop.

Police commenced a pursuit and the vehicle of interest gathered speed. Police ended the pursuit when the vehicle allegedly began to drive inbound on the outbound lane.

The vehicle was again sighted a short time later when it nearly collided with another vehicle on Tiger Brennan Drive.

The male driver exited the vehicle and fled the scene. He was later arrested at an address in Woolner.

He was charged with:

  • Driver drive under influence of drugs
  • Drive unregistered motor vehicle
  • Drive uninsured motor vehicle
  • Drive in dangerous manner – Excessive Speed
  • Recklessly endangering serious harm
  • Fail to comply police officers direction

He was bailed and is due to appear in Darwin Local Court on 9 November 2018.
