Northern Territory Police have recovered a woman’s body after a report of a crocodile attack in East Arnhem Land this morning.

Police were notified about the incident at the billabong near Gan Gan just after 10:30am.

Officers from Lake Evella and Nhulunbuy were working with local rangers and the community to search nearby waterways for the woman.

The woman’s body and the crocodile were found just before 5:00pm less than one kilometre from the scene.

The woman’s body was then recovered.
