Charges - Unlawful Entry - Maningrida

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 19-year-old male in relation to an unlawful entry in Maningrida.

Sometime on 14 or 15 October the male and a number of co-offenders are believed to have unlawfully entered a premises and stolen property which included two recently purchased cars.

As a result of the incident it is believed the loss and damages exceed $120,000.

On 15 October police located four youths, aged 14 to 17, in one of the allegedly stolen vehicles and took the youths into custody. They were referred for diversion. The second vehicle was located a short time later.

On the morning of 16 October police arrested the 19-year-old male.

He was charged with:

  • 1 x Enter Building at Night - Intent
  • 1 x Stealing
  • 2 x Aggravated Unlawful Use Of Motor Vehicle
  • 4 x Damage Property
  • 5 x Interfere with Motor Vehicle
  • 1 x Resist Police in execution of duty

He is due to appear at Darwin Local Court on 18 October.

Police have identified further alleged offenders and enquiries are continuing.
