Northern Territory Police have charged a 37-year-old man with drug and alcohol offences after prohibited items were located in his luggage at Groote Eylandt Airport on Monday.
Drug detection dogs Lena and Bear responded to:
- Six litres of unlawfully possessed liquor
- 45 grams of cannabis
- One used bong
- 100 empty deal bags
Police allege the man had abandoned his luggage and left the airport, however was charged today with:
- Supply Schedule 2 drug to Indigenous community (less than commercial quantity)
- Possess cannabis in a public place
- Possess thing to administer dangerous drug
- Bringing liquor into an Alcohol Protected Area
