Northern Territory Police have charged a 28-year-old woman with drug offences in Darwin.
Around 10:00am on Tuesday, 11 December, police attended Darwin Airport for routine drug screening.
Officers observed a female who had exited her vehicle and turned back around when she sighted police.
Police approached the vehicle and Drug Detection Dog (DDD) Apollo was deployed. He provided a conditioned response to a back pack.
A subsequent search was conducted and police located seven individual packages containing seven ounces of cannabis and one large package which contained 500 grams of kava.
The woman was charged with:
- Supply Indigenous Community, Schedule 2 Traffickable Quantity
- Possess Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug Public Place
She was bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on 8 January 2019.
