Charges – Stealing – Casuarina

Police

Northern Territory Police have arrested two people in relation to stealing offences.

Sometime between 11:15am and 12:00pm on Sunday, 15 December, a 48-year-old male and 48-year-old female walked into a Casuarina store where they loaded a shopping trolley with garden lights and ornaments.

It is alleged they left the store with no intention of making payment for the items. This was captured on CCTV.

Around 9:00am on Thursday, 20 December, officers from Strike Force Trident conducted a search warrant at a Milner residence. Officers located the stolen property as well as a live smoke grenade. The smoke grenade was conveyed to Peter McAulay Centre by Territory Response Group officers.

The male, who was not present during the search warrant, was arrested around 7:00 this morning. He is expected to be charged with stealing, possession of a prohibited item and breach suspended sentence later today.

The female was arrested by police around 12:00pm yesterday at a residence in Berrimah. She was charged with stealing and has been bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on 21 January 2019.
