Appeal for Information – Unlawful Entry – Ludmilla Primary School

Police

Northern Territory Police are investigating an unlawful entry last night at Ludmilla Primary School.

Acting Commander Darwin Metropolitan Command, Craig Laidler said police received a report of persons being on the premises shortly before midnight.

“When officers arrived they observed a group of five youths who then fled the location,” Commander Laidler said.

“In attempting to apprehend the offenders, a 14-year-old male youth was found to be in possession of an axe. Due to his failure to comply with police directions to drop the weapon officers deployed OC spray.

“The youth was provided with assistance to alleviate the effects of the OC spray. He was then left in the care of his family.

“Investigation to date has revealed that numerous classrooms within the school had been unlawfully entered, with significant damage caused to classrooms.

“Police are still investigating and arrests are likely to be made.

“We are urging anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has any information regarding the alleged offenders to please contact us on 131 444 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
