Northern Territory Police continue the search for a man reported missing from a community north of Alice Springs.

Harold Morton, 44 was last physically seen within the community at 6am on Friday, and tracks believed to be his were found 4.5km travelling north away from the Aboriginal community of Ampilatwatja by community members.

Police and community members have carried out air and ground searches for the missing man for the past two days, but are yet to locate him.

Harold is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, 175cm tall, with a skinny build and a greying beard and was wearing blue jeans, a blue and green polo shirt and runners.

Police urge anyone in the Ampilatwatja or Alparra area who may see Harold Morton or have information as to his location, to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
