Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses following a pursuit of a car in Darwin’s north on Sunday night.

Anyone who saw the white Holden Commodore with NT registration CC 37 ZZ at around 10pm last night is urged to contact police.

During the pursuit, the driver of the Holden Commodore nearly crashed into several cars.

Investigators are hoping to speak to motorists driving outbound along Vanderlin Drive near the Leanyer water park at around that time. They’re also appealing for the driver of a 4x4 utility that turned off Lee Point Road into Moil Crescent during the pursuit to contact police.

A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged with
• Dangerous driving in a pursuit
• Drive disqualified
• Possess Schedule 1 substance trafficable quantity (methamphetamine)
• Possess Poison (Valium)
• Resist Police in the execution of their duty

He’s due to face the Darwin Local Court today.

Police are urging anyone who was in the area at the time and hasn’t spoken to investigators to contact officers on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 anonymously.
