A woman has died after the vehicle she was driving rolled 27km north of Kulgera late last week.
Around 3:30pm on Thursday, the woman was driving south on the Stuart Highway when it appears she lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll several times before it stopped alongside the road.
Passing motorists stopped and provided assistance to the 57-year-old woman, who was critically injured, and a 58-year-old male passenger who was uninjured.
The woman was transported by RFDS to the Alice Springs Hospital, but later died as a result of her injuries.
Officers from Major Crash Investigations are investigating the circumstances surrounding the cause of the crash.
The woman’s death brings the current Northern Territory road toll to 15 compared to 27 for the same time last year.
