Northern Territory Police are investigating a fatal single vehicle rollover in Stapleton, roughly situated between Batchelor and Adelaide River, which occurred early this morning.

At about 5:44am this morning, a passing motorist notified police of a single vehicle crash on Cheeney Road, Stapleton.

A 27-year-old male, and his five-year-old son, were the only occupants of the vehicle. The five-year-old boy died as a result of injuries sustained during the crash.

Major Crash Detectives are conducting investigations into the circumstances of this incident.

The death brings the Northern Territory’s road toll to 20, compared to 31 for the same period last year.
