Fraud charges - Alice Springs

Detectives from the Southern Investigations Unit have charged a 44-year-old man following the alleged theft of over $300,000 from the company he worked for in Alice Springs.

Ex-Tropical Cyclone Lam - Update #15

Commander Bruce Porter APM, Region 2 Regional Controller, has advised that post impact assessments are underway in all four major communities impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Lam – Galiwinku, Ramingining, Milingimbi and Gapuwiyak.

Flood WARNING – Waterhouse River – Update #4

The Bureau of Meteorology has advised that a moderate flood warning remains in place for the Waterhouse River, with the water level at Beswick Bridge approaching a moderate flood peak this afternoon.

Commander Bruce Porter APM, Region 2 Regional Controller, advises that as a result of on the ground inspections and assessments undertaken by the impact assessment team on Goulburn Island, it has been deemed safe for the people of Warruwi to commence returning home.

Restricted movements into Elcho Island

The Bureau of Meteorology advises a minor flood warning remains in place for the Waterhouse River, with the water level at Beswick Bridge expected to reach the minor flood level (7.70 metres) this morning.
