The Northern Territory Police Force is investigating the death of an infant in Palmerston earlier today.

 Around 2:30pm, police received reports of an unresponsive infant located within a vehicle parked in the driveway of a local residence.

 General Duties officers attended the scene and conducted CPR before the arrival of Paramedics.   

 The infant was declared deceased a short time later.

 The circumstances surrounding the death are under investigation.
