Firearm located following Katherine investigation

Strike Force Cerberus is continuing to investigate a series of incidents that occurred across Katherine over the weekend.

An unsecured Ruger .300 rifle and ammunition, which had been inside one of the stolen vehicles, were handed in to Katherine Police Station by members of the public last night.

Police are continuing to investigate the incidents, during which two vehicles were allegedly stolen by a group of youths and driven dangerously throughout Katherine.

Investigations remain ongoing, and police urge anyone with information to contact police on 131 444, quoting reference number NTP2600066917. Anonymous reports can also be made via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police remind all firearms licence holders that they have a legal responsibility to ensure their firearms and ammunition are stored safely and securely at all times in accordance with legislative requirements.
