The Northern Territory Police Force can confirm the lives lost on Territory roads in 2026 has risen to 13 following a fatal single vehicle crash last month.
On Friday, 8 May 2026, a 57-year-old male was negotiating a right-hand turn on his motorcycle from Tiger Brennan Drive onto Garamilla Boulevard, Darwin City when he is believed to have lost control, collided with the kerb and subsequently struck a signpost.
No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in the crash.
On Sunday, 31 May 2026, he sadly passed away in hospice care.
Investigations into the crash have since determined that the man died as a result of the single-vehicle crash.
The Lives Lost on Territory Roads tally now stands at 13 for this year.
