Charges – Sexual Assault – West Arnhem

The Northern Territory Police Force has charged a 33-year-old man in relation to sexual offending which occurred in a West Arnhem community between October 2025 and December 2025.

Detectives carried out an extensive investigation into the incident which revealed that the man sexually abused a child under the age of 14 years multiple times.

Digital examination of the accused also revealed child abuse materials relating to the victim.

The 33-year-old was arrested on 5 July 2026 and has now been charged with:

  • Gross indecency with a child under 14
  • Abduct child under 16
  • Deprive a person of personal liberty
  • 2 x Aggravated assault
  • 2 x Sexual intercourse with child under 14
  • Repeated sexual abuse with child under 16
  • Possession of child abuse material
  • Breach bail

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on 29 September 2026.
