The Northern Territory Police Force is calling for information after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Woodroffe overnight.

Around 8:50pm, police received a report that a woman was sexually assaulted at her residence on Woodroffe Avenue, Palmerston.

An unknown male offender has allegedly entered through the rear door of the property, before sexually assaulting the woman and fleeing the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or CCTV that could assist investigators, to come forward.
