The Northern Territory Police Force are appealing to members of the public for CCTV and dash camera footage relating to a white Hyundai Tucson bearing South Australian registration S483ACA, which was allegedly driven recklessly in the Alice Springs area yesterday.

Around 12:15pm, police began receiving reports of the vehicle driving dangerously on Bloomfield Street and throughout the town.

Tyre Deflation Devices were successfully deployed on South Terrace before the vehicle collided with a Suzuki Baleno at the roundabout intersection of Leichardt Terrace and Stott Terrace.

The 20-year-old driver the of Hyundai fled on foot before he was arrested by attending police. He remains in custody with charges expected.

No injuries have been reported.

Investigators are particularly interested in obtaining CCTV or dash camera footage recorded yesterday that may assist with identifying the vehicle’s movements and driving behaviour.

Acting Senior Sergeant Brad Wallace said any information, no matter how minor it may seem, could assist investigators.

“We are asking anyone who may have seen this vehicle, or who has CCTV or dash camera footage of a white Hyundai Tucson with South Australian registration S483ACA, to come forward.”

“Footage captured by members of the public can play a vital role in identifying offending behaviour and assisting police investigations.”

“If you have relevant footage, we encourage you to contact police as soon as possible.”
