The Northern Territory Police Force is calling for information following an assault that occurred in Alice Springs today.

Around 11:30am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that an adult male had physically assaulted a female runner on Undoolya Road, before fleeing on foot towards the Alice Springs CBD.

The male had allegedly been acting in a disorderly manner a short time before the assault.

The female victim left the location prior to police attendance and is urged to contact police on 131 444 or attend the Alice Springs Police Station.

The offender remains outstanding and investigations are ongoing to locate him.
