The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested four offenders after a disturbance occurred in Alice Springs yesterday.
Around 3:40pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that a group of up to ten people, some of whom were armed with blunt weapons, were engaged in an altercation with another group on Gregory Terrace.
Both groups left the area prior to police attendance and investigations into the disturbance commenced.
Police subsequently attended an address on Banksia Street in East Side and arrested one 23-year-old female, and three males aged 17, 28 and 42. A 12-year-old female was also identified and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.
Police seized multiple weapons at the address, including an axe, hammers, star pickets and an improvised baseball bat.
The offenders were charged with multiple offences in relation this incident. All four were remanded in custody to appear in court today.
This incident is not believed to be linked to recent ongoing disturbances in Alice Springs.
