Today, a member of the Northern Territory Police Force was arrested in relation to sexual assault offences that occurred in 2024.

The 52-year-old officer has been remanded to appear in Alice Springs Local Court tomorrow on 2 charges of Sexual Intercourse Without Consent against a woman who was known to him.

The member is currently suspended with pay and was off duty at the time of the incident.

The matter remains under investigation. Due to the case being before the courts, no additional information will be provided at this time.
