Charges – Child abuse material – Alice Springs

Police

The Northern Territory Police Force has charged a 61-year-old male in Alice Springs for possessing child abuse material.

In June 2025, the Southern Child Abuse Taskforce received information from New Zealand alleging the male was in possession of child abuse material.

On Friday 14 November a search warrant was executed at the male’s residence resulting in the seizure of several electronic storage devices. A subsequent examination of the devices identified child abuse material.

Yesterday, the 61-year-old was arrested and taken into custody.

He has since been charged with possession of child abuse material and using a child for the production of child abuse material. He appeared in the Alice Springs Local Court today and was further remanded in custody to appear in court at a later date.
