The Northern Territory Police Force is calling for information in relation to an assault that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday.

Around 3:20pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that a female youth had been assaulted by a group of four other female youths at a swimming pool on Speed Street in The Gap.

It is alleged the group approached the youth, pulled her to the ground and physically assaulted her by kicking and stomping her head and body.

The pool briefly closed, and police attended the scene. The victim was conveyed to hospital for assessment with bruising and swelling.

The offenders are believed to be known to the victim.
