Call for information – Aggravated assault – Alice Springs

The Northern Territory Police Force is calling for information in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday morning.

Around 1.20am on Sunday 15 June, police received a report of a stabbing that had occurred outside a residence on Grant Road in Larapinta. The male victim had been returning home when he was approached by an unknown male who asked for money and cigarettes.

When the victim denied the request, the offender allegedly produced an edged weapon and cut the victim across his face, before fleeing the scene.

Emergency services responded and the victim was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A crime scene was declared, and investigations are ongoing.
