The Northern Territory Police Force have arrested a 59-year-old male in relation to a stolen motor vehicle yesterday morning.
Around 9:30am, Strike Force Trident and Darwin General Duties located and recovered a stolen Mercedes motorhome on Litchfield Street, Darwin City.
Police observed ammunition inside the stolen vehicle which prompted a lawful search of the vehicle and the male's accommodation, being a hotel room on Cavenagh Street, where he was arrested.
During the search, a quantity of methamphetamine, ammunition, OC gas spray, drug implements, an imitation firearm and stolen ID and bank cards belonging to over 50 victims were seized.
The male has since been charged with numerous drug, weapon and property offences and has been remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
Acting Senior Sergeant Christopher Humphries said, “This was a significant recovery, and I applaud the hard-working members of Strike force Trident and Darwin General Duties for their efforts.
"Our detectives are currently contacting those who have had their items stolen.
“The actions of this individual are completely unacceptable, and we will continue to prosecute those who break the law.”
