The Northern Territory Police Force have arrested a 53-year-old male in relation to a disturbance that occurred in Alice Springs this morning.
Around 9am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports that an adult male entered a business premises on Stuart Terrace allegedly armed with an edged weapon.
It is alleged that while inside the premises, the offender made threats toward clientele and staff, before the staff were able to deescalate the situation and the offender fled the scene.
Police attended and conducted extensive foot patrols. Around 10:30am the offender was arrested on Gap Road.
He remains in police custody with charges expected to follow.
