The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 23-year-old male in relation to an aggravated burglary incident that occurred in Alice Springs on Thursday afternoon.

Around 3:40am this morning, the male was arrested after initially fleeing from a police traffic apprehension on Todd Street.

A short pursuit had ensued, before the offender stopped on the Stuart Highway north of Alice Springs where he was taken into custody without incident.

He is expected to be charged later today.
