The Northern Territory Police Force have seized a quantity of alcohol in East Arnhem yesterday afternoon.
Around 2:00pm, police apprehended a vehicle and seized a significant quantity of alcohol destined for the remote community of Gapuwiyak during a routine traffic stop along the Central Arnhem Highway.
The traffic operation is aimed at preventing the unlawful transport of prohibited substances into restricted areas.
Sergeant Joanne Muchow said, “Alcohol related domestic violence is a complex and critical issue where the presence of alcohol can amplify the frequency and severity of abuse.
“We will continue to take strong action to deter illegal activity and support local efforts for a safer, healthier environment.”
Gapuwiyak Police remains committed to safeguarding the integrity of alcohol restrictions and protecting the communities they serve.
