Call for information - Stolen motor vehicles - Alice Springs

Police

Northern Territory Police are calling for information regarding multiple stolen motor vehicles across Alice Springs overnight.

During the evening of 1 January and early morning of 2 January, 8 stolen motor vehicles were identified by police as being active through Alice Springs.

Just after 1am, a Hyundai i30 was reported driving dangerously at a business premise along Barret Drive, targeting a security golf cart and narrowly missing security staff.

A further 2 Toyota Landcruisers, a side-by-side Polaris and a white Subaru Forester were observed driving in a dangerous manner by youths in the CBD.

Strike Force Viper, Dog Operations unit and the Drone unit were deployed to assist in a safe resolution strategy.

Tyre deflation devices were put in place, successfully spiking a confirmed stolen Holden Cruze, with the offenders from the vehicle still outstanding.

Members of Strike Force Viper recovered the Hyundai i30 and a Honda Accord after both vehicles were found abandoned.

Northern Territory Police are advising people to enhance their security by diligently locking up homes and cars, reducing the risk of theft and unauthorised entry.

Anyone with information about the stolen vehicles are urged to contact police on and quote NTP2400000452.
