Call for information – Large disturbance – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a large disturbance occurred in Alice Springs in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Around 1.20am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received multiple reports of a large group fighting at a sporting club on the Stuart Highway in Stuart. Up to 200 people were believed to be in attendance at the club when the fighting broke out.

Reports indicated some people were allegedly armed with edged and blunt weapons.

Police attended and the alleged armed persons fled the scene. A 16-year-old male received treatment at the scene by paramedics for a minor hand injury.

Police remained at the location until the crowd dispersed.
