Call for information - Hit and run - Darwin

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a hit and run occurred in Jingili on Friday afternoon.

Around 2:50pm, police received reports that a vehicle had collided with a pedestrian in a cemetery carpark before fleeing the scene.

The victim left the area before emergency services arrived and was later located outside Nightcliff Police Station and conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.

Police received intelligence that the vehicle related to the incident was heading to a remote community with a large quantity of alcohol and a quantity of cannabis.

A short time later, Daly River members located the vehicle, and a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed bringing the vehicle to a stop before the occupants fled into nearby bushland.

The vehicle along with the alcohol and cannabis were seized.

Investigations are ongoing.
