Police

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a hit and run early this morning.

Around 3:10am, emergency services were informed of 3 seriously injured people, 2 males and a female, on Trower Road near the coastal reserve in Brinkin.

All three victims were conveyed to hospital, two assessed as suffering critical injuries and one in a serious condition.

A crime scene has been declared and Major Crash and Major Crime detectives are currently on scene.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said, “We have identified a vehicle of interest observed on CCTV travelling in the area at the time of the incident.  It is described as a light-coloured van.

“We are seeking CCTV footage from the area between 1am and 4am and appealing for residents with street-facing CCTV in Brinkin, Nakara and Tiwi to contact police to assist the investigation.

“With assistance from the public, it’s inevitable that we will identify the vehicle and driver involved so we are appealing for the driver to immediately make contact with police or attend the nearest police station.”

Police are urging anyone with any information that can assist the investigation to make contact on 131 444.
