Call for information – Domestic violence – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a domestic violence incident that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday.

Around 6.30pm, police responded to a report that a 25-year-old female had been assaulted by a 28-year-old male on Todd Street.

The two parties are believed to be known to each other.

The victim suffered injuries to her head and upper body during the assault, which left her unconscious, after which the alleged offender fled the scene.

General duties officers responded and quickly located the offender, arresting him without incident.

The victim was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital to receive treatment.

The 28-year-old male offender has been charged with Recklessly endangering serious harm and Contravention of a domestic violence order. He was remanded to appear in court at a later date.
