Northern Territory Police are calling for information after an aggravated robbery occurred in Tennant Creek overnight.

Around 8:20pm, police received reports of five male youths allegedly unlawfully entering a residence on Scheelite Street. One of the offenders was allegedly armed with an edged weapon.

The sole-occupant, a 79-year-old male, was threatened before being physically assaulted by the offenders.

The offenders subsequently rummaged through the property, stole the victim’s phone, and fled the scene.

Police attended however the offenders remain outstanding.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his hand and received medical treatment.
