Call for information – Aggravated robbery - Katherine

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after an aggravated robbery occurred in Katherine early this morning.

Around 1:40am, police received reports from a 27-year-old male that 2 unknown males allegedly unlawfully entered his residence on Bergman Circuit. They gained access to the residence through the back sliding door, armed with edged weapons.

One of the alleged offenders threatened the man with an edged weapon before stealing his vehicle keys and both fleeing the scene in a Toyota Camry.

A short time later, police located the vehicle abandoned on Crown land off Maluka Road.

Senior Constable Michael Poeling-Oer said, “Police declared a crime scene at the residence and forensic officers are conducting examinations”.

Katherine Criminal Investigation Branch are continuing to investigate.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or with information to contact 131 444.
