Call for Information - Aggravated Robbery – Alice Springs

Police

Northern Territory Police are calling for information following a home invasion in Alice Springs earlier this morning.

About 5:40am the Joint Emergency Services Communications Centre (JESCC) received a report of an aggravated robbery at a residence on Lovegrove Drive, Araluen.

It was reported that 5 male offenders kicked in the front door of the residence and awoken a 73-year-old male and 72-year-old female resident.

The offenders armed with edged weapons have demanded money, cigarettes and alcohol, with one offender holding a knife to the female victim’s throat as the demands were made.

The offenders remained at the residence for about 30 minutes while removing alcohol and other property from the premises, carrying it to a red Holden Commodore parked across the road, waiting with a female diver.

At one point the female victim ran out through the rear door while chased by two male offenders and called Police. The two male offenders have then jumped the rear fence of the property fleeing the premises.

The remaining three male offenders have then run out through the front door and driven off in the waiting red Holden commodore.

Northern Territory Police are urging anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference P24067180.
