Arrest - Hit and run - Wulagi

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to a hit and run that occurred yesterday afternoon in Wulagi.

Around 4:10pm, police received reports of a collision involving two pedestrians and a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render assistance and fled the scene.

The two pedestrians were transported to Royal Darwin Hospital, one of which was assessed as having life threatening injuries while the other suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A short time ago, officers from Darwin Traffic Operations located and arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the offending and seized the vehicle of interest. The man remains in police custody and is expected to be charged later today.  

Police would like to remind drivers involved in a crash that they must stop and remain at the location and render assistance to any injured persons if safe to do so.
