Arrest – Aggravated robbery – Katherine

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 16-year-old male in relation to an aggravated robbery at a service station in Katherine this morning.

At 7.30am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre (JESCC) received reports of an armed offender at a business in Katherine. The youth allegedly threatened an employee with an edged weapon, before stealing money and car keys from the victim.

The victim subsequently engaged with the youth, resulting in the money and car keys being dropped before the youth fled the scene.

Police attended and identified the youth via CCTV. He was tracked to Katherine River where he was found unarmed and was arrested without incident. Police are continuing to search for the edged weapon.
