Arrest – Aggravated robbery – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 16-year-old male youth in relation to an aggravated robbery in Alice Springs on Friday night.

Around 11.30pm, police received reports of an aggravated robbery outside of a residence on Todd Street. A male youth allegedly followed three females to the residence from a nearby restaurant.

The youth allegedly assaulted one of the victims with a blunt weapon, during which she suffered injuries to her shoulder and back. He then allegedly assaulted a second victim and proceeded to steal personal items from her before fleeing the scene.

A 16-year-old was identified a short time later via CCTV and subsequently arrested by detectives from Strike Force Viper.

He remains in custody charged with the offences and is to appear in court later today.
