Northern Territory Police Force have conducted multiple seizures in Maningrida over the Christmas period.

Local officers have located and seized a combined quantity of over 30 Litres of Alcohol and 1.2 Kilograms of Cannabis intended for the remote community.

Remote Sergeant Timothy Gillahan said, “The recent seizures are a direct result of great work from Maningrida Police and information provided by community members.

“These significant quantities of illicit substances had the potential to caused great harm had they not been intercepted.

“We will continue to disrupt the flow of alcohol and illicit substances into the community and restricted areas.

“We continue to urge anyone with information on the supply of alcohol or drugs to our communities can call police on 131 444.”
