UPDATE: Charges – Aggravated robbery – Leanyer

Northern Territory Police have charged 4 youths in relation to an aggravated robbery in Leanyer earlier this week.

Detectives from Strike Force Trident arrested the 4 males yesterday.

A 15-year-old has been charged with:

  • Robbery - aggravated
  • Possess schedule 2 - less than traffickable quantity
  • Serious breach of bail

Another 15-year-old was charged with:

  • Robbery - aggravated
  • Serious breach of bail

Both were remanded to appear in court today.

A 12 and 11-year-old were allegedly also involved in a vehicle theft and unlawful entry in Nightcliff the same night. Detectives have charged the 11-year-old with:

  • Robbery - aggravated
  • Unlawful use of motor vehicle
  • Damage to property
  • Stealing
  • Obtain benefit by deception
  • Serious breach of bail

The 12-year-old was charged with:

  • Robbery - aggravated
  • Unlawful use of motor vehicle
  • Possess schedule 2 - less than traffickable quantity
  • Stealing
  • Obtain benefit by deception
  • Serious breach of bail

Both were remanded to appear in court today.   

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said “Investigations are ongoing to identify the remaining offenders for both the aggravated robbery and Nightcliff unlawful entry.

“No one deserves to be threatened in their place of work and Strike Force Trident will continue to combat property offences across the Greater Darwin Region.

“We continue to urge anyone who witnesses this sort of behaviour to call 131 444 or in an emergency call Triple Zero.”
