JACET Charges – West Arnhem Region

Northern Territory Police have charged a 49-year-old man in relation to a number of child sexual offences in the West Arnhem Region.

On 10 January 2023, detectives from the the Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (JACET) executed a search warrant at the man’s residence in the remote community.

The man was arrested and charged with:

  • Transmit child abuse material x 3
  • Solicit child abuse material x 1
  • Possess or control child abuse material x 1

He was remanded to appear in local court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Akers said “Child exploitation in any of its forms is reprehensible and anyone who views, possesses or creates child abuse material is committing a crime and you will be caught.”
