Northern Territory Police have charged a 25-year-old man with child exploitation offences yesterday.

The Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (JACET) executed a search warrant at the man’s Palmerston residence, seizing a number of mobile devices and a bag containing suspicious items.

It is alleged the man was attempting to bring a child under the age of 16-years-old to an abandoned residence.

Police have arrested the man and charged him with procure child under the age of 16 for sexual activity. He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

The Northern Territory JACET team continue to invest in building local capability to protect children from exploitation and intercept unlawful activities of this kind.

Police urge parents to consider their children’s online safety by reviewing their children’s online activity and the social media platforms that they use.
