The Northern Territory Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (NT JACET) arrested a 68-year-old man in a community within the Katherine Region yesterday.

Members from Northern Territory Police and the Australian Federal Police executed a search warrant at the man’s residence, locating a mobile phone containing child abuse material.

The man was arrested without incident and has been charged with:

• s474.22 - Transmit child abuse material
• s474.22A - Possess or control child abuse material

He was remanded in custody to appear in Katherine Local Court today.
